This was Sierra’s project for her awarded 3D Visualization Fellowship at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, Virginia. The project integrated accurate, architectural models of the colonial-era Robert Carter house, with animation. The models were made in AutoCAD Architecture and 3ds Max, and were animated in Maya and After Effects. The final animation was projected in the actual historic space to create an immersive, educational experience.
Renders showing the process behind the modeling and texturing of the Carter House wall. Textured models done in 3ds Mac, rendered with V-ray. Process model renders from AutoCAD.
Shots from the final compiled animation. Wallpaper effect done in After Effects, while the plaster animation was a combination of Maya and After Effects. The lath animation was completed in Maya.
